Arcade Re-set
It's that time again! Our Arcade score table will be re-set on Thursday 1st August 2013, midnight, UK, this is just the main scoreboard, HoF scores will remain as they are
A few things to note regarding our competitions that we run that will be affected by the re-set
Team Game
Current Game in play is SpongeBob, this will end at 11.00pm Thursday 1st August (UK time) which will allow Debbie time to sort out the scores, the new TG will be in play after the re-set but please note it will carry on and close at usual time on Monday 5th August, so you will all have a few extra days to play "next week's" game
Weekly Challenge
5x games currently in play, neilgee will close the weekly challenge 1x day earlier on Thursday 1st August, then post up the new games, ready for the next challenge
Monthly Game Challenge
This ends on 31st July, new games will be posted up for 1st August, please bear it in mind though that any scores on games (apart from HoF) will be cleared at midnight UK time on 1st August
New Feature
Owing to a few request from our VIP members, we will, once again have a VIP category of selected games in our arcade. These games will only be available to VIP members to play, occasionally we will have a "Bank Holiday Bonanza" where the category will be open to all members to play.
What we would like is for each VIP member (those that are sparkly green or staff alumni green) to choose a game that you would like placed in our new VIP Games category and send the name of the game in a pm to either Debbie or Ros58 and we will move that game in readiness post re-set.
We currently have 30 members who are VIP's so that should be 30 games if everyone submits their choice, we will move some popular games and some of the new games making a total of 40 - 50 games in that category
Score targeting
We have had over the last week to 10 days 2 or 3 pm's about members targeting other members for high scores. We've thought long and hard about this issue, for now - we will maintain the current rules and not set a limit on any member targeting another, however, we would ask that if you lose more than 5 scores to another player in the same day and you would like to inform Debbie or Ros58 of this, you will need to have notifications turned on (got to my profile to do this) and we would then ask that you send a copy by pm to either of us and we will then be able investigate any problem reported.
By sending copies of notifications which are time/date stamped, it gives us a better idea of who's doing what to who, its very difficult for us to check otherwise, the current scores limit on any players arcade profile only holds the last 5 game scores, if you have more than that taken in one day, you will need to provide us with notification notices otherwise its almost impossible for us to check with well over 5000 games in our arcade.
Please bear it in mind that there is always a frenzy of flurried activity usually 2 weeks either side of a re-set as members establish themselves on the arcade score table. Presently, we feel there is no need for us to have a "no targeting" rule, although competitive, we have plenty of games in our arcade to satisfy all members tastes and ability
We will continue to monitor activity in our arcade and will take action if there is a need.
